Every 12 months ( by law) landlords must have gas appliances checked for safety by a CORGI registered installer in properties they let .

If you live in rented accommodation, you should ask your landlord for written proof of this check. Landlords are legally obliged to provide you with this information.

A Gas Safety Certificate will be issued to the landlord which includes a tenant copy 

The certificate will list checks carried out and details of any faults found and repairs required.
